Biography
Dominic Larivière is a full professor (analytical chemistry and radioecology) in the Department of Chemistry at Université Laval. Since 2009, he has headed the Laboratoire de radioécologie, a university research laboratory dedicated to the assessment of radioactivity in the environment and biota. Dr. Larivière is a recognized expert in the field of radiochemistry and the detection of radionuclides in the environment, particularly in the detection of actinides and short-lived radionuclides by inorganic mass spectrometry. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Larivière has acquired internationally recognized expertise in nuclear forensics, automated radiochemical separation and environmental monitoring of radioactivity by inorganic mass spectrometry. Dr. Larivière has received several awards, including Health Canada's Young Investigator Award in 2008 and the Radiochemical and Radiobioassay Measurement Society's Founders' Award in 2017.
